Channel 10 Goes Mobile

Israeli Channel 10 (the second largest TV Channel in Israel), with its Internet arm nana10 (www.nana10.co.il), launched a mobile video portal on the video shortcode *977. The digits 9-7-7 stand for the Hebrew word “ten” which is the name of the channel.

Based on DSPV's technology and operated by Teleclal, Israel's largest VAS provider, the portal offers continuously updated
news clips edited for mobile, as well as clips from the channel's leading shows.
Moreover, the portal offers trivia quizzes and in the future additional interactive games, benefiting from the interactive nature of video calls. The new, direct-to-consumer (D2C) channel represents a marked enhancement over the traditional mobile strategy of leading media channels in Israel, which has been to strike deals with the local carriers and have the content strictly on-portal.

Promotion for the new service will be achieved via the Channel's existing Internet portal and on TV. The new portal is running on DSPV's 2nd generation platform, enabling the media partner to upload new content, change the menu structure and graphics and completely control the portal look and feel.
The new platform features a no-single-point-of-failure server infrastructure capable of supporting a virtually unlimited number of concurrent callers, for both voice and video calls.
